INNER VOICES offers several  touring shows per semester, each addressing a different topic ranging from health concerns such as substance abuse, sexual health and body image to social issues such as sexual orientation, racism, women’s issues and sexual assault.

Each performance, designed to be fun, informative and challenging, includes a 20 - 40 minute performance followed by a facilitated discussion. Facilitators include trained professionals from the Counseling Center and the McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois as well as students who are training in the fields of social work, women’s studies, theatre studies and health related fields and who are currently enrolled in the Leading Post Performance Dialog class.

Firm One: The Body Boutique

Do you need new hips, new thighs, new hair, new eyes?  INNER VOICES takes a critical (and frightfully funny, sometimes naughty) look at the creation and dissemination of body image propaganda in the new millennium.

Unlike U 2-NITE, U-NITE

The culturally, economically and sexually diverse backgrounds of friends spur unusual and thought provoking looks at the controversial topic of diversity.

Help! I need somebody...

An academic advising show to get everybody headed in the right direction...even if it is a little late.

Sex‘n’Drugs’n’Rock’n’Roll’n’You’

Everybody loves to party...right?  So what’s, like, the big deal?  Fun and informative.

For a Good Time

This play goes to the heart of matter and beyond as Inner Voices investigates healthy and not so healthy relationships.

Open Season

INNER VOICES confronts the issue of hate crimes, specifically those crimes directed toward lesbian, gay, transgendered and bisexual people in our society, through looking at the stories of five friends.

Breaking the Silence

Scenes of domestic violence and sexual assault are presented as the basis for audience dialogue.
